Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Early Years settings are taking in children for longer periods and at a younger age. However, their day-to-day practice has not necessarily changed and instead leads to the 'management' of behaviour, rather than investigating why the behaviour is taking place. Through a combination of practice, theory and reflection, leading Early Years education consultant Penny Tassoni explores children's behaviour from a child-centred point of view. In doing so, she shows how, over time, children learn to be with others and the strategies that adults can use to positively support this development. Understanding Children's Behaviour is a practical handbook that is accessible and adaptable for Early Years practitioners looking to support children's behaviour by focusing on their personal and social skills. It includes a useful A-Z problem-solving section about dealing with unwanted behaviours for analysis and to guide practice.

After leaving his job as a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Aaron Samuels needs a new purpose in his life. Wanting to help his patients even if he can't operate, he heads to the Puerto Rican rainforest to find a cure for heart disease. He never imagined he'd meet a beautiful, mysterious woman, especially not one talking to a frog in the middle of the jungle... Gaia—a.k.a. Mother Nature—has had it with paranormals breaking her number one rule: Never reveal your supernatural powers to humans, not even your mate. Fed up, she transports to the rainforest, happy to converse with amphibians who don't talk back. But Dr. Samuels is a much better conversationalist, and Gaia can't wait to help him mend all those broken hearts he told her about. When her attempts to help only complicate things between them, Gaia begins to wonder what would happen if she opened her heart and was honest with Aaron...and herself. Maybe her number one rule has been wrong all along... Praise for Ashlyn Chase: "A sexy and fun paranormal romance."—Booklist for My Wild Irish Dragon "Hot and hilarious. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of 8 stories for children and the age defying adults has been written over a period of many years now. The first story was written some 10 years back and I had no idea that one day I will bring it out as a compendium of my short stories. The feedbacks I received when I published the first ones as stand alone stories propelled me without a conscious but irresistible rudder towards this goal. I write a story without any set boundary or time when I feel like it towards the act of writing. I simply put down on paper the incessant urge I feel to weave a story. Some of these stories started with just an off-hand comment from a colleague or friend whereas others were more of an exertion of thought towards reaching a certain goal. The goal is always to produce a story that will be liked by children as well as by adults who are still young at heart. Physical age is not counted! Most of the stories that I see for children nowadays seem to me to be preachy. They seem to treat the child as a vessel of change by turning their thoughts towards behaving better or giving out some morals to shape their course of life. Its as if we adults (some only in appearance) want the child to behave or live an utopian life when such utopia exists only in our dreams. I have tried my best to refrain from such efforts and to treat kids as kids and provide them a situation, a problem and a possible solution. The teaching part is left out and the learning is for to the child to figure out. If the story puts a smile on the face of the reader, I shall feel my purpose is achieved. I strongly feel that a child should be left alone to enjoy his or her childhood. They shall soon have to grow up and conform to societal and other pressures. The pressure to live in a certain way will come with time. These stories are meant to provide them an alternative way to enjoy their time and to plot for their next adventure. The adventure called ‘Life’. Thanks to all who knowingly or surreptitiously helped with the course of these stories. Their comments and behaviours have made these stories flow, sometimes into unknown territories from which I had to struggle hard to rescue them and sometimes myself as well. I hope you like them. Illustrations for the stories have been done by Sahayaa Jeevan. Thanks a lot for your help. P. Kasturi Rangan

A peaceful hold falls to enemies and House Lonmere’s extensive family is decimated with only the youngest and oldest children surviving. Kit and Megs, sheltered and protected at Lonmere for so long, are now caught up in a desperate attempt to flee from the foreign mercenaries who murdered the rest of their family. But, there is no stopping the abilities they both feel growing in their consciousness. Awareness of some deep and abiding wonder become strikingly clear when both hear the Song for the first time. Jans and Jon Stockwell, twin brothers and operatives from an advanced civilization assigned to the Brandish-Lonmere line are frantic. Forbidden to use modern tech, they could not stop the attack and subsequent deaths. Now, they must protect the two youngest surviving children at all costs. For in these children, the long awaited extra-sensory perception talents their clandestine genetics program has cultivated over the past centuries, are about to bear fruit. The twins are left with no choice. Risking their jobs and freedom, Jans and Jon must break every rule they swore to uphold. Two very different civilizations; one primitive and one advanced, are about to crash against each other’s shores with profound and far-reaching consequences.

The endless wet sheets almost demanded diapers. And for some parents or carers, the same thing happened. Wet beds demanded protection and the only real protection was diapers and some years ago, those diapers were cloth and covered in plastic pants. Baby pants. Baby diapers. Is it any wonder some grew to want to be a baby? But what if the parent or carer knew the effect it would have and did it anyway? What if they wanted their charge to become dependent on nappies and to being to crave infancy? What if they had a plan? Janet had such a plan – a fourteen step to revert Nathan back to infancy. Download or read book The Little Trials Of Childhood written by Frances Chaput Waksler and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-10-12 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A little explored area of childhood is that of the troubles and difficulties children experience simply by being children. Using adults' stories about being a child, such as not being believed, being left unprotected against monsters, and discovering that Santa Claus is not real, this book presents children as they live in the social worlds of adults and in social worlds of their own making. The book brings to life the "little trials of childhood" - anxieties and problems facing children which seem to escape the attention of adults.
