Sunflowers take all summer to grow and that's a long time! It's going to take a lot of hard work and patience before Raccoon and his pals see big, bright flowers. Sometimes, the most beautiful things in life are worth waiting for. *** In the tradition of timeless classics such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit and The Many Adventures of the Winnie the Pooh, The Tales of Buttercup Grove series introduces young readers, ages 3-7, to the many fun adventures of Skunk, Raccoon, and the rest of their woodland friends. Along the way, your child will learn timeless Christian values, such as sharing, compassion, kindness, encouragement, and patience, and learn a key Bible verse at the end of each story.

It was a normal day. I decided to take a ride around the pasture with my brother when it happened. The most beautiful woman of my dreams stood in the center of my mother's garden. A branch came out of nowhere and knocked me off my saddle. Not even my princely status can save me from the embarrassment I feel. Did she even notice me? When our eyes lock, I knew then she was destined to be my Queen forever. All I have to do now is find the perfect spot to propose. Will there be love among to sunflowers or will duty deny us our happily ever after?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What about this book? For one thing, at first look, it seems to be poorly organized. Granted, it does seem to be confusing. However, as disorganized as it appears to be, all four of the chapters are connected quite logically. All four of the chapters exist for one purpose: each one of the four has something important to say about why Diamond City is so unique and has a very bright future. The focus now is to make that bright future a reality. Chapter I: Let us consider the unique kind of people our residents are. For example, read this chapter and find out how our people demonstrated the strong humanitarian traits that are embedded in the folks of Diamond City. They are the core of Diamond City. Chapter II: This one is easy. It is connected to where prospective visitors need to go. In this chapter, there is an answer for any visitor and/or prospect that asks a question about any topic having to do with Diamond City. Chapter III: If you are looking to check out what is in Diamond City, you will have to do some research on our animals, especially those that may come to your property at any time of the day or night. This chapter has two animal tales to tell. One is about a real-life story of humans attempting to deal with three kinds of precocious animals. Find out who wins! The second animal tale is about intergroup relations between Canada geese, mallard ducks, migrant ducks, and one coot. It may cause you to compare their behavior with some humans you know. Chapter IV: Here we have done a favor for our prospects. They now have a source where they can find out firsthand from our residents what it is like to live in DC.

This book was released on 2009 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The autobiographical stories in I Loved My Mother on Saturdays, based on the author¿s life ¿ first in a shtetl in Belarus, then as a new American immigrant in New York, and finally as a garment center designer and mother ¿ were first spun orally. This gives her writing a lively, spoken word rhythm, as if she is the raconteur in your living room telling tales out of school. This is the oral tradition in its truest sense: stories shaped by the listener and by time.Bresnick-Perry¿s stories are wildly funny and deeply moving. ¿ Na¿amat WomanThrough these many-splendored multi-layered technicolor personal stories, filled with humor and poignant moments, Roslyn¿s voice enters your heart! She carries you with her to deeper truths of the human spirit. ¿ Peninnah SchramRoz Perry is one of this nation¿s finest tellers of tales. Weaving her memories of the tiny town of Wysokie Litewskie into stories, she has created a priceless resource both for understanding the lifeways in the shtetlach of Belarus and other areas of Eastern Europe, as well as the American immigrant experience. I can not imagine a reader who would not find her book a gift and a delight.¿ Steve Zeitlin Director City LoreThe seeds for the Jewish future are contained in these stories of the Jewish past. In a voice of shrewd innocence, Roslyn Bresnick-Perry describes the hardships, fears and community bonds that shaped Jewish life in the Old Country and the courage, determination and love that allowed Jewish life to bloom in American soil. She has recreated the shtetl from memory, and made a wonderful, unsentimental fairytale out of real-life yiddishkayt. ¿ Larry Bush

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Sublime tale of Unnatural Events. The Internal world of Marjoram Maple is stretched beyond the boundaries of her imagination as she with her brother Jack are caught in a supernatural event brought about by a fiery visitation to their family home. This mythical adventure begins when Jack appears one morning with a strange ring of fire around his head. This fire seems to bring to life and release the energy of inanimate objects including a group of sunflowers that are the subject matter in one of their mother’s (Marigold Maple) paintings. This group of sunflowers leads the two teenagers on a spiritual journey. The main characters are the eccentric Maple family. They have four daughters who are named after botanicals, (Marjoram, Geranium, Rosewood and Lavender) and a son called Jack. Marigold the mother is a painter of flowers and Big Red the father is the local fire chief. It is set in a small mountain village called ‘Wonder’. The story is made up of a series of visual vignettes as they embark on a journey into a heavenly realm and there they meet a series of characters who serve as metaphors for supernatural beings. Intervention by these supernatural beings bring the whole family together in an adventure of mythical proportions where they discover that they have been charged with a mission: to return to their home town of ‘Wonder’ and rescue the dragonflies who are the warrior guardians of the town, and have been taken captive by a deadly ‘shadow’ that is intent on destruction. In their adventure they discover ‘Dandelion,’ a supreme being, who is the source of life on earth. The family is accompanied in their battle by a group of violets from Dandelion’s armed forces, and a host of spiritual beings known as ‘Thingamys.' This story is a celebration of creativity, diversity and moral fortitude against a backdrop of more serious issues that young people face in a sometimes unjust world.
